Antwerp restaurants

Hi. I just wanted to know about dining out in Antwerp. Will be there for a one day. Looking for great eateries that are not expensive for lunch and dinner.

Thanks!

An excellent restaurant with great value for money is Le Zoute Zoen; the best we meal we had in Antwerp was there; quirky decor and tasty food from the lady chef of the year 2006. sites.resto.com/lezoutezoen

Also we enjoyed our meal at Luna Restaurant, a bit more modern, nouvelle cuisine, with nice service.

And two more casual suggestions: Brasserie National at the Modenatie and ZuidTerass.

Thank you!

De Rooden Hoed, by the cathedral offers lunch specials, 3 courses, I think for Euro 20, Mon-Fri.

LaMalo is a Kosher mediterranean restaurant, close to Centraal Station, in the diamond district. It isn%26#39;t inexpensive, but the food is good. They are not open for dinners on Friday and are closed on Saturdays.

Docks Cafe is primarily seafood and is another good option across from the Schelde.

De Bloemkool, is a small cafe/restaurant on a side street, which offers pastas and a very good goat cheese salad (geiten kaas).

Hungry Henrietta is another good option, and it is quite close to the Groene Plaats.

For lunch:

Lunch lounge Het Gebaar, Leopoldstraat next to the botanical garden (rather expensive)

La Piada, Hoogstraat (cheap Italian eatery)

Furthermore the numerous café-restaurants on and around Groenplaats, Wapper, Grote Markt, ...

For dinner:

Docks Café, Jordaenskaai (rather expensive) - http://www.docks.be/
