Hi
Myself and a group of friends are going to Belgium for a 30th Birthday. We have booked into Leuven, but unsure whether Brussels maybe better for a lads weekend. Can anyone help?
Thanks

Leuven is beautiful city but it is a typical student city. Meaning that when there are exams or holidays there won%26#39;t be that much life in the city.
Brussels is easily reachable from Leuven.
It would be helpful if you could state with what purpose you are going. Are you mainly interested in good food and beers or do you also want to see some things?
You might want to visit the Stella Brewery in Leuven if you enjoy some good beer.
Hope this helps you out a bit

Thanks for your feedback.
It is for a birthday trip, so looking for somewhere with quite lively nightlife at the weekend. Are keen on doing the stella brewery tour.
We have booked into a Leuven hotel, but other members of the group are pressing for Brussels.

I think you made the right choice with a hotel in Leuven. The square where most of the cafés are (Oude Markt) is always lively, even on weekends %26#39;cause Leuven has a lot of international students. That particular square, by the way, is called %26quot;the longest bar in Belgium%26quot;. It%26#39;s literally lined with bars.

Thank you for the information
This does re-assure me!
