higlights/things not to miss

Hello,

We will be traveling to Brugge during the chocolate festival [easter weekend]. Please, are there anythings we should not miss art, architecture, nature? We are a family group with children ages 13, 10, %26amp; 8. Thanks a bunch.

Hi there

A can boat cruise is a must - tourisrty but very picturesque and you get a great view of the city from a different level.

For another view from a different level climb uo the Belfort(Belfry) if it%26#39;s open - the views from the top are fantastic - however at 366 steeps comprising a spiral and wooden staircase it might be a bit too much for the younger ones in your party.

The inside of the Stadhuis is lovely, a reconstructed Gothic Gall which is a riot of colour. However the outside may be more fun for the kids - you can get a little little leaflet which tells you who all the statues on the outside are and the kids might enjoy themselves spottong Baldwin Iron Arm and Philip the Beautiful!

The Groeningemuseum is a world class art gallery which includes a %26#39;cast list%26#39; og painters such as Jan Van Eyck, Hans Memling, Gerard David, Hieronymus Bosch and, from more recent times, Paul Delvaux and Rene Magritte.

Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk is a wonderful church and incluides Michealangelo%26#39;s %26quot;Madonna and Child%26quot; plus some Gothic and Baroque architecture and works of art

Other than that I%26#39;d suggest just wandering round the streets - the Markt and Burg are worth exploring as are many of the surrounding areas. It%26#39;s a beautiful, charminmg city and very easy to walk around

Have a great time
