Is Antwerp a good side trip from Brussels?

I am rethinking Antwerp for a day trip. Is it a good place to go or is there another (aside from Brugge)?

Thanks-

I thoroughly reccomend Antwerp for a day trip. During our trip in Belgium we stayed 2 nights there. The center is lovely, the city has excellent food, some noteworthy attractions, like the Royal Museum of Fine Arts, Plantin Moretus Museum and The Cathedral. There is also great shopping, as the city is a hotbed of new fashion designer as wel as the birthplace of Antwerp 6 designers.

I really enjoyed my trip to Amtwerp for just one night. It%26#39;s only about 40 minutes by train from Brussels.

We live in Antwerp and it is a great place to visit. The Peter Paul Rubens house is well worth a visit, too. Centraal Station is, well, central, and the city is easy to negotiate on foot or on the trams.

There are great restaurants in Antwerp. I%26#39;ve not stayed in any downtown hotels, as we live here, but De Witte Lelie is quite lovely, and there is a very nice museum/house a couple of doors away.

When we moved here, we stayed on the south part of the city in a small hotel, Firean, and took the tram into town for dinner and sightseeing. It is also a beautiful old home filled with Tiffany glass.
