My husband and I are heading to Belgium for 5 days or so in September. Is is better to check out Flanders vs. Wallonia? If you had to choose two cities to spend the most time in what would you choose? We like food, beer, architecture, gardens, history, etc.
I know we will start in Brussels...but not sure if one night in Brugge is enough, or if a day trip through Ghent and Antwerp is worth it?
Thanks!

History and architecture: you will find those in all the Belgian cities, be it in Flanders or Wallonia. The same for food and beer!
Gardens: first of all, we%26#39;re not in England and we don%26#39;t have so many abundant gardens than in England. There are some very nice ones, though. I%26#39;ll name a few:
Nationale Plantentuin van België in Meise
Jardins d%26#39;Annevoie in Annevoie
Rivierenhof in Deurne/Antwerpen
Parc des Topiaires in Durbuy (which is a very pretty little city - the smallest city in Europe I believe) in Wallonia
The park of the Castle in Edingen
Japanese Garden in Hasselt
Arboretum in Kalmthout (which is where I live)
Arboretum in Tervuren
Check the various locations on www.viamichelin.com - you will see that the gardens are scattered all over Belgium.
