hi, just wondered if anyone could tell me when the %26#39;zandfeesten%26#39; in brugge is? i%26#39;ve heard that it%26#39;s like a braderie or large flea market going on throughout an area of the city- is this right? also, i saw a %26#39;braderie%26#39; listed online for brugge on 24th june- is this the same as a french braderie [large fleamarket]. does anyone have any info, please?

Yes the Zandfeesten is a big flea market, held on several dates throughout the year, in this case 8/7, 5/8 and 23/9, see …brugge.be/events_brugge/chronologisch.htm (you will have to highlight the dates to read them as they are hidden by the photo of the flea market).

A braderie differs from a flea market in that it incorporates elements of a street fair (e.g. with bands, street theatre, entertainment for children), and normal shops in the area also participate, e.g. by setting up stalls outside their premises to sell sales items.
