I am going to the Rock Werchter festival this year between 28th June and 2nd July - I was wondering if anyone knows of any good B and Bs or hotels nearby which might be less well known than the ones which come up through standard web searches?

Well I wouldn%26#39;t stay in Werchter. Take the bus (15-20mins) every day to Leuven (it%26#39;s free with your festival ticket) and look for a hotel in the city. Much more to see and do in Leuven than in sleepy Werchter.
There are a couple of hotels across from the bus stop. The Oude Markt is a short walk (12 mins) from the Martelarenplein.
