Belgium: Visiting Brusells, Brugge and ????

My husband and I are coming to Belgium the first week of September. We are going to start in Brussels, then head to Brugge. Should we also try to check out Antwerp or Ghent on our way back to Brussels before we fly out? We should be there about 5 days at most.

Thanks!!!

Antwerp is a must-see, when you visit Belgium and much better than Gent.

Antwerp is a beautiful, lively and trendy city - they have many restaurants, beautiful historic buildings, many shops (some famous young designers are from Antwerp: e.g. Dries van Noten) ...

I prefer Antwerp to Brussels and Brugge.

Brugge is really beautiful...but small and more like a museum.

Brussels is a big city and most people do not like ist much/are disappointed when they come there for their first visit, because it impresses more because of its int. flair with all the different people from many countries working (e.g. EU institutions) and living there. Ther nice parts of this town are spread and you really have to know where to go to see these.

So you should not miss Antwerp, I promiss you will like it better than Brussels! It is my favorite in Belgium!

People have different tastes, I personally prefer Ghent to Antwerp but as it is a sort of hybrid of Brugge and Brussels, you might prefer Antwerp as something different. But you don%26#39;t really give us anything to go on as regards your interests! Antwerp has an interesting cathedral, Rubens%26#39; House, a diamond museum, a zoo, a fashion museum, the Cogels Osylei area with many art nouveau houses, and if you are interested in seaports you can take a Flandria boat trip.

If you aren%26#39;t interested in any of those things, you can easily occupy 5 days in Brussels and Brugge (September is a nice time for Brugge, btw, as long as it isn%26#39;t raining of course), or if you have never been to Paris, it%26#39;s only 1h20 minutes or so from Brussels by Thalys.

I%26#39;d skip Brussels altogether, or just make it a day trip. It%26#39;s a nice city, but has nothing on Ghent, Brugge or Antwerp. If I had to choose, Ghent was my favourite by a nose over Brugge. I%26#39;d suggest staying in Ghent and commuting to the two other cities.
