Brussels in July

Would appreciate views on whether early July is a good time to visit Brussels.

Thanks.

Don%26#39;t see why not, our weather is much the same as yours.

Thanks. I was asking both in terms of weather and activity. Is this a time when the locals go on holiday and therefore many shops, etc. are closed? Is this a high tourist period?

It%26#39;s a time when many Belgians take their holidays so if you want to go to the coast, in particular, you will need to book in advance, and the motorway and trains between Brussels and the coast (which includes the trains to Brugge) may be packed; but the vast majority of shops remain open. Some local butchers, bakers, etc. close and it is difficult to get a plumber or electrician but nothing like Paris in August, and as a tourist I don%26#39;t think you would notice much difference in that respect between July and any other month. Tuesday 21 July is the Belgian National Day and therefore a public holiday but there are no other bank holidays in July so I don%26#39;t see any problem.
