I%26#39;m surprising my wife with a weekend to Brussels to see a horse show (Cavalia) that is goig to be held at a place called %26quot;Tour %26amp; Taxi%26quot;.

Can someone tell me the esiest way to get there (on a saturday) from La Meridien. We wont have a car.

Thanks

I was also wondering what We can expect the weather to be like around the end of March.

%26quot;Tour et Taxis%26quot; (the French version of the name of the family Thurn und Tassis that had the first postal monopoly) is near the Port of Brussels on the other side of the canal from the North Station. Personally I would take metro line 1A from Gare centrale - which is right opposite your hotel - to Belgica (direction Roi Baudouin) and walk from there, but you could also:

- taking metro line 1 in the opposite direction and changing at Arts Loi, take metro line 2 to the Yser or Ribaoucourt stop, and walk from there;

- take a train from Gare centrale, opposite the Méridien hotel, to Gare du Nord and bus no. 14 from there (or walk); I think this is the only bus that stops right outside).

- take the metro from Gare centrale to Comte de Flandre and then bus 89 to the Picard stop, see …irisnet.be/TimeTables/…H0891F.htm (and at the bottom of that page, plan réseau means network map.

Your guess is as good as mine as to what the weather will be doing, it could be much the same as in Denmark.

Sorry about the late reply but I%26#39;ve been pretty swamped at work lately!

Thanks for the directions and the link to the time table. Shortly after posting the origional question I found %26quot;Tour %26amp; Taxis%26quot; website and they also had really good directions with average walking time from the various stops.

It%26#39;s here, should anyone else need it: http://www.tourtaxis.com/

Thanks again

Robert
