With a small child I suppose the ideal way to travel would be by car. Via Michelin says the distance is 535km including 482km on motorways and would take 5h31 by the fastest route, including 4h29 on motorways, petrol cost for this distance (since you may not be familiar with European gas prices): 47.53 EUR.
You can fly from Brussels Airport in 1h20 with Lufthansa (brusselsairport.be/en/…hannover), but given that you have to get to the airport from Brugge in the first place (1 1/2 hrs by train changing at Bruxelles-Nord), and these days, check in 90 minutes in advance, you could also consider taking the train the whole way.
By train the best connection on weekdays takes 6 1/2 hours with 2 changes (Bruxelles-Midi and Köln HBF), dep. Brugge 11:02, arr. Hannover Hbf 17:28, cost per adult 93.20 EUR one way (children under 6 travel free on InterCity trains as in this connection - if you take a Thalys train at any stage, e.g. between Brussels and Cologne, the rules are different, children under 4 travel free on Thalys, provided of course that they do not occupy a seat, see www.thalys.com). At other times the same journey would take up to 7 1/2 hours, with up to 3 changes. You can look it up for yourself on http://bahn.hafas.de/bin/query.exe/en.
