travel from brussels airport to avenue louise

travelling to avenue louise from the airport, please advise on price of taxi, or other ways of getting to avenue louise. Thankyou

I would guess between €35 and €40, depending on which end of the Avenue Louise, which is a very long avenue, and also the time of day and therefore traffic.

The airport train (€2.80) serves Gare du Nord, Gare centrale and Gare du Midi, in that order, and from the latter you can take metro line 2 direction Simonis (€1.50) to Louise, for anywhere near the %26quot;town%26quot; end of Avenue Louise, e.g. Place Stéphanie (Conrad Hotel...).

For the %26quot;Bois%26quot; end, on the other hand, it would be more convenient to take the airport bus - 11 or 12 - to Diamant pre-metro station, and change there onto tram 23/90 to the Legrand stop; the airport bus costs €3 but because it is run by STIB the ticket covers onward travel on any tram, bus or metro for 60 minutes from first stamping, although you must remember to put the ticket in the orange machine in each means of transport you use, to mark the transit.

Or, also for that end of the Avenue Louise, you could go by train to the Gare du Midi and take tram 90 direction Rogier to the same stop (Legrand) in the opposite direction. Here is the route map for tram 90 and at the bottom you will find the Brussels transport network map: www.stib.irisnet.be/FR/40000Fre/T/40090F.htm

And if by any chance you wanted an address in the middle of the Avenue Louise, the no. 81 tram from Gare du Midi goes down rue du Bailli to the Lesbroussart stop. Plus, of course, there are trams (93, 94...) that run all the way down the Avenue Louise - basically in order to advise you you should find out what the nearest cross street is to wherever you are going!

I have no idea as I live here so don%26#39;t stay in Brussels hotels! However, from this location map holidaycityeurope.com/hotel-brussels/map.html it is closer to the %26quot;Bois%26quot; end of the Avenue Louise, and the closest tram stop is probably Vleurgat on e.g. the 93/94 tram from Louise or (if you take the 23/90 tram there from Diamant), Etoile.

I would just point out that trams are narrow and, in the case of the old ones, high up, and not at all convenient if you have large suitcases: so if you have a lot of luggage and don%26#39;t want to take a taxi all the way from the airport, you could compromise by taking the train or bus and then a taxi from the station or, in the case of the bus, Schuman or Luxembourg, where the no. 12 bus terminates. Cost should be +/- €12, probably (although it depends on traffic) less from Luxembourg as it is the closest of these possible arrival points to Vleurgat - and there are lots of taxis in the square in front of the Gare du Luxembourg, which is also close to the European Parliament.
