Hello all TAs:
I would like to browse some speciality food shops in Brussels after my tour. Could anyone give some name of these kinds of gourment shops (except chocolate shops). Could anyone also recommand nice boulangieres in central Brussels? Thank you so much for the help!

There%26#39;s a %26quot;Belgian gourmet%26quot; shop in the Galeries St. Hubert that would probably provide most of what you want. Belgian bread is not renowned, btw, but if you like French bread there%26#39;s a Pain Quotidien (Belgian chain founded by an amateur of French bread) in rue A. Orts, the big street right opposite the Bourse, it%26#39;s on the left-hand side if the Bourse is at your back. There is a nice boulangerie in the rue de Tabora, between the rue du Marché aux Herbes and the St. Nicolas church (and the Bourse), with a cheese shop close by. For biscuits, Dandoy has 3 shops that I know of, one in the rue au Beurre just below the Grand%26#39; Place, one in the rue de l%26#39;Ecuyer between the GP and the Manneken Pis (with a café upstairs where you can sample their excellent waffles) and one in the rue de Rollebeek just below the Sablon. For cakes and biscuits, especially macaroons, Wittamer in the Sablon is also worth looking at, and of course there are lots of chocolate shops around there including Pierre Marcolini%26#39;s flagship store.

Thank you so much! I am getting jeaous as you can live in a city with most wonderful food around. Is there anywhere I can buy nice ground coffee or coffee bean in Burssels?

I%26#39;m sure most people here buy their coffee from the supermarket just as you probably do. There%26#39;s a good GB in the basement of the City 2 Shopping Centre at the Rogier end of rue Neuve, the main shopping street, and a small GB Express in rue au Beurre between the Grand%26#39; Place and the Bourse, which specialises in tourist stuff but also has the basic necessities. Then there%26#39;s a Delhaize in Bd. Anspach not far from the Bourse, more or less opposite the Quick hamburger restaurant, and sort of behind that, another GB.
However there is a specialist coffee and tea shop called, I think, Samoka, in the rue des Fripiers, opposite one of the entrances to the Passage St. Honoré. The rue des Fripiers becomes the rue de Tabora after crossing the rue du Marché aux Herbes - street where the tourist office is and which the Galeries St. Hubert open off.

You can also buy Illy coffee at either the store on Avenue Louise or at the airport if you are flying into Zaventem. Illy is Italian coffee and is considered outstanding.
