Hi all. I am checking to see if anyone is familiar with the Bed and breakfast called Gastenkamers at Riddersstraat 9. I found a few reviews of B and Bs with this name in the title, but I think they are both different than this one as the addresses were different. I am planning to stay here for a few days in March. It was recommended in my guidebook as a good place, but just wondering if anyone has any opinions. Thanks!

Gastenkamers MEANS %26quot;guest rooms%26quot;, i.e. B%26amp;B - so of course you will find this name in the title, at least when it is written in Dutch!!

Gastenkamers is the Dutch (Flemish) translation for guest rooms. So all B%26amp;B%26#39;s are guest rooms.
The B%26amp;B at Ridderstraat 9 doesn%26#39;t have a specific name (like a hotel) but it belongs to the Gheeraert family and is considered a %26#39;guestroom with character%26#39;. Here%26#39;s their website: http://www.bb-bruges.be/english/gindex.htm
On www.brugge-bedandbreakfast.com/index.php… you will find all the accredited B%26amp;B%26#39;s in Brugge. Under the picture of each house you will see a mini map of Brugge. The black dot on the map is where the Market Square is and the red dot where the B%26amp;B is. Very easy to find a B%26amp;B in a good location!

ahhhh...now it all makes sense. Thanks for the clarification!

Hi ambaker. I stayed in an apartment at Ridderstraat 16. The location was great - a 5 minute walk to the centre, a nice 25 minute stroll to the station (caught a taxi when we first arrived via train - the taxi fare was E9) and it%26#39;s just around the corner from canals, an internet cafe, an Irish pub (go figure!) and 5 minutes to many great cafes.
The houses in the street are all large and it seems that the standard/size of rooms for apartments %26amp; B%26amp;Bs is quite good - and the value per euro is very good. For example, we paid E300 for 3 of us to stay 4 nights in our apartment, which was more like a house - it was the whole floor of a large house.

Thanks sandra. It seems as though the location will be very good. We are leaving in two weeks and very excited! Amy

Amy - I%26#39;m jealous!! Two weeks to go and counting...
If you enjoy coffee, make sure you have a Javana coffee at the cafe Servaas von Mullen, Patisserie Salon. (refer my other post re the coffee)
Brugge is just beautiful.
Enjoy, enjoy
