Italian Restaurants in central Brussels

Dear all experts:

Can anyone recommand me some authentic Italian restaurants in central Brussels? I would not mind to pay a bit more to enjoy the food compared to the price we paid and the quality of food we can get in the uk. Thank you for all the help!

i%26#39;m not a local expert for brussels but when we were in brussels for christmas vacation we were more than pleased with the food in the italian restaurant of amigo hotel-very close to grand place.

For the best pizzas in Brussels, La Mirante at 13 Plattesteen, in the Bourse area: www.resto.be/ware/details.jsp?businessid=4517 (it is tiny though).

Otherwise I think the only really authentic Italian place (apart from the Barsey at the Amigo which I have never tried) I know of in the centre is La Caneva, at 9 Rue des Grands Carmes, off rue du Midi and not far from the Manneken Pis.

If you can go a little way out of the centre, La Fattoria del Chianti at 48 rue Archimède near Schuman metro station is also very good.

For something special I recommend Castello Banfi on the Grand Sablon.
