We are driving to Brussels for a day%26#39;s sightseeing and want to know where to park the car and how to get into the centre of Brussels. Any information will be gratefully received as I have heard taking the car is hard work.

I am sure you can get street maps of European cities from W.H. Smith or Waterstones in England. I don%26#39;t know where you are likely to enter Brussels (I think, by the Basilique in Koekelberg) which would determine where you could leave the car and how you would get from there by public transport, but it is difficult to park in the street because parking is either residents only or metered. You could consider staying on the Ring and following signs to the airport, where you can park and take a train from below the airport which will take 20 minutes or so to Gare centrale (from where it is 5 minutes on foot to the Grand%26#39; Place). Or, if you see signs to the Heysel, you could park near the Atomium/Roi Baudouin stadium/trade mart and take the metro from Heysel into central Brussels.
There is a list of public car parks in Brussels on here, from which you can also see charges: www.interparking.com/en/index.cfm…

Parking Grote Markt is a large car park, easy to find, at Grasmarkt which is in the centre at few steps from Grote Markt (Grand Place). It%26#39;s next to the hotel %26quot;Ibis Brussels Off Grand%26#39; Place%26quot;
Check www.viamichelin.com on how to drive.
