Thalys in advance from Brussels to Paris

Hello all TAs:

I am going to stay in Brussels for two nights and then will take Thalys train to Paris on Monday. Do I have to buy a ticket in advance as it will be much cheaper than purchase it at Midi station? The cheapest will br 78 euros. Does it sound a reasonable price?

Thank you for the help!

You HAVE to buy a ticket in advance for high-speed trains, and the further in advance you can buy it, the cheaper the price. If you leave it till a couple of hours beforehand, which is the latest you can book (Thalys is reservation only), you risk not getting a place or having to pay double the price. You don%26#39;t have to buy it from Midi Station, though, you can buy any international train ticket from any international station in Brussels (which includes Midi, Central, Nord, Schuman and Luxembourg) as well as from the SNCF office in Galerie Louise and from www.thalys.com.

You can book Thalys online and collect the ticket from the machines at Midi station.
