Fun things to do in Brugge

Hi,

I will be heading to Brugge with my boyfriend from the 15th to the 18th Feb. We%26#39;re looking for suggestions for fun things to do (We%26#39;re thinking of doing a boat trip on the canals, distillery tour and maybe the chocolate factory!)

Is there an amusement park in/near Brugge and would it be open at that time of year?

Also, would there be a bar that does karaoke?

I would appreciate all suggestions!

Cheers,

Orla :-)

Please look at %26quot;Brugge attractions%26quot; in the list on the left of this page.

Although I%26#39;m not sure it%26#39;s the sort of thing you want anyway, the Boudewijn sea park in Brugge does not open until April.

I found one karaoke place in Brugge: http://www.dekelder.be/

Thanks for that Gaminari - that karaoke place looks great!!

Do you know if that bar is pretty central? We will be staying in Best Western hotel Acacia!!

The website says it is 300 yards from the market square, behind the theatre - I presume, the Royal City Theatre in Vlamingstraat - and the map shows that it too is not far from the square (no. 6 on here, and if you look for no. 1 you will find Vlamingstraat):

I meant, your hotel too is not far from the market square, it%26#39;s the Acacia that is no. 6.

Hi Dinger53 - when I was in Brugge in November, I went into the Youth Hostel pub that was just around the corner, to ask for assistance with finding a bottle shop so I could buy some wine.

The barman looked at me and smiled and said...

%26quot;well...you know if you walk down this street you%26#39;ll come to a canal. Cross over and you%26#39;ll see a street on the right. Don%26#39;t take that one. Keep walking until you come to the next street. Take that one%26quot;....in the broadest Irish accent! It was so funny because I didn%26#39;t expect that in Brugge. AND, the pub became a very full, rowdy and loud place in the evenings - I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll enjoy a visit there....You can find it in Hoogstraat, just near the corner of Ridderstraat. 2 minutes from the burg.

The place mentioned in the last post is called Charlie Rockets. I think there%26#39;s a youth hostel there as well as the bar. Head out of Burg Square with the square on your right side and the Crown Plaza Hotel on your left - you%26#39;ll reach Charlie Rockets in a minute or two on your left. They have pool tables and play some great music. They also serve food in the daytime (not sure if they do in the evenings...)

Enjoy Bruges!!

What is your favourite artist to karaoke in Brugge?
