Brussels Layover

We can layover in Brussels on a %26quot;mileage%26quot; trip to Prague and Budapest. I would like some suggestions as to how long. We will arrive in Brussels at 7:40 am. Planes to Prague leave morning, afternoon and early evening.

I would suggest you look at %26quot;Brussels Attractions%26quot; and decide what you want to do in Brussels! The absolute minimum would be, after collecting your luggage and finding the lockers at the airport (unless you want to leave it at the Gare centrale, where there are lockers and a left luggage office), to take the train from the airport to Gare centrale (20 minutes, trains run roughly every 10 minutes at least on weekdays, cost €2.80) then walk down the hill to see the Grand%26#39; Place and Galeries St. Hubert. If everything goes well you might possibly be in the town centre by 9, so allowing yourselves a couple of hours there plus time to get back to the airport and collect your luggage in time to check in 90 minutes before your flight, the earliest flight you could take would be around 13.30/14.00 - unless of course you decide to reduce %26quot;a couple of hours%26quot; to whatever you consider sufficient, or for that matter increase it to cover something specific you might select, on the basis of your own interests, from the list of sights in Brussels.

For information on lockers at the airport, see brusselsairport.be/en/…baggagelockers.

If you bring your luggage to Gare centrale, follow signs to the %26quot;consigne%26quot; (left luggage office), the lockers are next to it. It is on the level the escalators arrive at from the trains (I think, by one of the entrances to platform 4), so if you find yourself at the ticket-office level you need to go back down the main staircase then turn right, behind a flower shop.
