Hi
It is our 6th wedding anniversary on 26th May and we are going to Brussels for 2 nights. Which of the above hotels are the better? We are treating ourselves and wanted a bit of luxury.
Also, how far is brussels airport away from these hotels? how much will a taxi cost?
Or ..... can anyone recommend a nice hotel with lovely rooms for a bit of luxury but still close to the main attractions and the bars so we can sample lots of the ever famous belgian beer?!
Thanks Em x

1) I would suggest you look up both hotels in the %26quot;Brussels hotels%26quot; list on the left and see what TA members have said about them. I can only advise you on location, the Royal Windsor is near the Grand%26#39; Place and about 2 minutes%26#39; walk from Gare centrale, while the Sheraton is at Rogier and a good 5 minutes walk from Gare du Nord. The Royal Windsor bills itself as a luxury hotel (although I think some guests have disagreed) while the Sheraton is squarely aimed at business travellers.
2) A taxi from Brussels Airport to anywhere in central Brussels will cost between €30 and €35, I would not expect any difference between these 2 hotels.
3) Also as regards location, you can drink Belgian beer anywhere and Brussels is in any case not huge, but the Royal Windsor is closer to the well-known bars like Poechinellekelder (by the Manneken Pis) and A la Mort Subite. A smaller, charming-looking hotel in that same area is the Dix-Septième but I am sure you can get more ideas by studying the hotels listed on this page.
