Vendome is very well priced at weekends - around 50 or so euros for a room. Lots of work done on it recently and it is much improved. The area is a bit seedy but nothing over the top - just the odd s*x shop behind blanked out windows. hotel-vendome.be/html_en/…the_rooms.htm

If they won%26#39;t give you a rate try www.leisuredirection.co.uk , www.booking.com

I have stayed at the Aris Grand Place Hotel, this is right by the Grand Place (25 meters) and also very close to good shopping, overpriced tourist restaurants (avoid) %26amp; some very good local bars.

Rooms are very modern %26amp; comfortable. Quiet hotel in terms of street noise for one so central.

If you book well in advance you can get a room on a weekend for 65-85 euros per night.

Unfortunately, it is also very close to the Irish Pubs downtown (O%26#39;Reillys %26amp; Celtica), so you may get heavily distracted from seeing too much of Brussels, but plenty to see close by.

I was in Brussels the weekend before last and booked at the Ibis

St. Catherines using the Accor website. They drop their prices during the weekends and I stayed Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. I paid between 51 and 52 Euros per night, no breakfast.

The rooms are of a good size and the furnishings in new condition. I had a room on the 5th floor (503?) that had a excellent view of the church and the lovely square behind the church.

You are a short walk to the Grand Place. Just walk around the church and you have access to the Metro system (which will take you to the Central rail station) at St. Catherine%26#39;s metro stop. At the nearby Bourse station, you have access to the tram system, which leads to the North and South rail stations

I would return to this hotel.
