I am trying to decide if I should join a tour to go to Bruge in mid-May. If I take a train from Brussels - Centrale, is it easy to navigate on my own? Where do I take the canal tour, is it windy and cold, given the boat is uncovered? Any assistance will be appreciated. Thanks!

One of the advantages of taking the train on your own is that you won%26#39;t have prepaid for a windy and cold boat trip! :)
Yes, it%26#39;s very easy to navigate from Brussels to Brugge by train. And very easy to walk from the train station to the heart of things in the city once you get there. (Or you cant take the bus).
You%26#39;ll see the place(s) for the canal boat tour, obviously if the weather isn%26#39;t good for you it can be skipped, there%26#39;s plenty to see and do otherwise.

Yeah, it%26#39;s definitely easy. You can also pick the train up at Midi. The walk (or bus) from the Bruges station is relatively straightforward.
Do the Belfort hike up. It%26#39;s amazing.
