method of collecting thalys ticket

Hi everyone,

I went online to buy my tickets to travel from paris to brussels in august and you can collect the ticket at an automatic teller station in paris nord station or print it. If you print it, it has to be A4 format or they won%26#39;t accept the ticket once you get there. I don%26#39;t know what this means and I am afraid to print a ticket and have them turn it down at the station. I have a hewlett packard printer (officejet 6210 all in one) and use standard paper. Is this acceptable, or is it just easier to pick them up at the station? (if i choose getting them at the station, there are two possible choices that are exactly the same. this is strange and i am not sure what to do with this either. )

thanx

You are talking about collecting a ticket/presenting one you print yourself in PARIS, not Brussels so this doesn%26#39;t really belong in the forum for Belgium. However, if you don%26#39;t know what A4 (which is an extremely well-known term in Europe!) means, I would suggest you ask locally what size your %26quot;standard paper%26quot; corresponds to, which if it is A4 should be something like 8.3 x 11.7 of your American inches.

If you aren%26#39;t using A4-size paper, then of course it wouldn%26#39;t be acceptable to print out your own ticket since you say it is specified that if not printed on A4 paper %26quot;they won%26#39;t accept the ticket once you get there%26quot;. In that case, you would have to collect the ticket at Gare du Nord in Paris, but when you say there are two possible choices that are exactly the same, I don%26#39;t quite see how this could be the case. When collecting tickets in Brussels for travel to Paris (after online purchase from Thalys, www.thalys.com, or Belgian railways, www.b-rail.be), tickets can be collected from dedicated machines at Gare du Midi, using the reference code given by the system, or, I presume, at the ticket office (given that it is possible to pick up tickets at stations other than Gare du Midi, that don%26#39;t have such machines). But I cannot know what choices are available the other way around, and neither have you said who you are buying the ticket from - I would have thought the obvious thing to do was to enquire directly with whoever that is!

what i wrote in my original email concerning two identical choices (collection the tickets from an automatic teller machine) is exactly what my choice was online with regards to collection of my tickets. this is clearly what my choice was aside from printing my tickets on thalys.com.

i have gotten my answers from the paris forum/
