Brussels to Brugs

Is a day trip to Brugs sufficient to cover its attractions?

Do i need to buy train tickets to Brugs in advance?

1) Yes. Some people like the atmosphere at night but then the last train back to Brussels is at 22.57 anyway (arriving at Gare centrale at midnight).

2) No. Just be aware that a ticket does not in any case guarantee a seat, and as trains to Brugge continue to the coast, 2nd class at least can be crowded on sunny weekends.
