Hotel recommendation

I will be travelling with 2 senior citizens and 2 children from amsterdam via intercity train. really need some advice on a convenient hotel to stay i.e close to station and close to major attractions ( if it is ever possible!)

Anything near the Grand%26#39; Place (see Brussels Hotels list on the left) and in particular the Méridien which is just across the road from the central station. As you are coming on an intercity train, you can get off at this station and would have barely 100 metres to walk from the train to the hotel.
