eurostar

Hello, i have never travelled to brussels before, when you arrive by eurostar is ther just one stop? would anyone know the nest way to get to the stanhope hotel, or how much a taxi would be?

also is it possible to upgrade to 1st class on eurostar?

many thanks

in Brussels the Eurostar stops at Brussel South (Gare du midi/Zuidstation) station, and your ticket is valid for connection to any belgian station if your journey is made within 24 hours.

This means that if you are staying on the other side of the city centre, you can easily hop on a train to Central station (Gare du Centrale/Centraal station) or Brussels North (Gare du Nord/Noordstation).

This is handy to get to your hotel without negotiating the transport system too much as soon as you step off the train

sorry, i just realised I only answered your 1st question.

after a bit of detective work, i found out that your closest Train station would be Gare du Centrale, and the local metro is Trone/Troon on the %26quot;2%26quot; metro line. (map here: http://www.stib.irisnet.be/Graphic/newplanMetr.gif)

Not sure how much a taxi would be, as I%26#39;ve never been to brussells before (I know all of this because I am heavily researching into the trip my fiancee is taking me on.....in AUGUST!)

I know you can upgrade to %26quot;business premier%26quot; class on Eurostar, but I think it%26#39;s a fairly hefty fee. I suppose like a lot of cases it depends on how far in advance you book it.

May I ask when you are going?

1) yes, there is only 1 stop in Brussels, Bruxelles-Midi, terminus.

2) you do no need to take a taxi, you could get the metro from the rail station and get off Troon/Trone metro, the Stanhope is not far. Besides, beware of taxis in Brussels.
