My husband and I plan a trip to Europe - Amersterdam, Brugge, Paris, Rome. I have started to research and would like to confirm info with experience - We arrive in Amersterdam on Friday and want to stay and explore until Sunday (I booked Nadia Hotel?), we then want to take a train to Brussels and then to Brugge and stay in Brugge for one nite - then back to Brussels to take train to Paris - explore Paris and then rent car and travel to Marseilles and Nice - drop off car and take train to Rome. We have a total of 15 days. Just would like some info regarding the trains and approx cost - maybe some suggestions for hotels (clean but not to pricey), and whether to car travel is a good idea. Would really appreciate someone%26#39;s help.

Amsterdam over the weekend can be a dissapointment. Very busy and lot%26#39;s of drunk English who come in with the cheap flights.
To go to Bruges you don%26#39;t have to pass Brussels. Take the intercity train to Antwerpen and change here for Bruges. Journey 3.5 hours.
1 night in Bruges is not enough but if that is all you have it%26quot;s better than a daytrip.
From Paris to Marseille you better take TGV train. If you book early there%26#39;s a very good price. Don%26#39;t buy a railpass.
Fly cheap from Nice to Rome with Easyjet and Ryanair.
Hotels in Amsterdam : Brouwer, Brussels : Grande Cloche, Bruges : Fevery, Paris : Antin Trinité

I have to take exception to Fevery%26#39;s comment just a little.
My wife and I spent last weekend in Amsterdam, and there was no more sign of drunken Brits than there were Americans and Canadians.
The most drunk person we saw was Dutch!
My advice about Amsrterdam is GO!
If you keep away from the red light area, you won%26#39;t see any more drunks than you do anywhere else.
The city has a great cafe culture, and if you add the museuns and shopping, it%26#39;s a wonderful place.
As for Brugge, we usually stay for 3 or 4 nights when we visit, plenty of time to do your sightseeing, relax, take a half day trip to Oostende.
Hope you have a fantastic trip. ;-)
