Air Conditioning late June??

How important is A/C late June in Ostend? I need ceiling fan, A/C or open window with ocean breeze to combat %26quot;Hot Flashes%26quot;!

Any suggestions for nice hotel that would have a triple with any of the above? We are traveling with 13 yr old grandson and need roomy triple if we are to survive the trip. Haven%26#39;t gotten a response from Thermae Palace...emailed Ter Streep, Louisa, Andromeda. Any suggestions welcome,

Normally you don%26#39;t need A/C at the sea. There%26#39;s usually a good breeze and it cools off at night, much more than inland. I don%26#39;t know many hotels that have A/C anyway.

Of course, no one can predict what kind of summer we will have in 2007. If it is anything like July 2006 you better have A/C, even at the seaside!

A/C is usually not needed in Belgium and therefore not often part of the room amenities. An open window is always provided - mind you: every hotel in Ostend (or the Belgian Coast for that matter) is near a road, a boardwalk or a parking spot. So it won%26#39;t be completely noise-free. I can%26#39;t think of any hotel at the coast-side that is remote...

Thermae Palace, I think, is overrated. It%26#39;s an old building, and if you like that; it%26#39;s fine. It wants to pretend to still have the %26#39;grandeur%26#39; it had a 100 years ago, but it has really lost its magic.

We were the some summers ago and they served us the same dinner two evenings in a row (just differently organised on the plate...)! The rooms are small and overpriced.

There is also a highly visited discotheque in the basement, only in summer though, but it might be open late June.

So if you don%26#39;t get a reply, I wouldn%26#39;t be bothered...

As an alternative I would recommend Hotel Helios in Blankenberge. It%26#39;s a smart-looking new hotel by the seaside. It has modern and light rooms, overlooking the beach. Breakfast is wonderful and offers a lot of choice. For dinner, you can go the the fish restaurant (also serves meat, though) for a great meal!

Have fun!

I have chosen a hotel simply because of it%26#39;s location on the Seawall.

It is Die Prince. I am hoping to get a good breeze and a short walk to all. The owners seem very cordial. I would appreciate real info from anyone.
