Airports

Hi everyone,

I will be flying in to Brussels National Airport. How far is that from the Melia Avenue Louise Hotel, Rue Blanche, 4 Brussels 1000?

Is there an airport bus service that will pick me up fro the airport and take me to the hotel (some thing like super suttle in the US)?

I will be going to Barcelona from Brussels and I saw a flight with ryanair leaving from Charlerio Airport. How far is that from where I am staying.

I don%26#39;t know the distance from Brussels Airport (the airport is about 20 minutes from Brussels by train) but according to this, which also gives directions for getting to the hotel, it is 1.5 km from the Gare du Midi, which would be the easiest station from which to reach the Louise metro stop (you%26#39;ll have to reconstitute it as a single line as it is too long for TA):

There is no shuttle bus serving Brussels hotels. There is a public bus but for Avenue Louise, the airport train would be more convenient, either to Gare du Midi if continuing by metro or to Gare centrale if you want to continue by taxi, for about €10; or of course you can take a taxi from the airport which will cost something like €35 to Avenue Louise.

Charleroi Airport is 45 minutes from the Gare du Midi by the Ryanair bus that stops in rue de France, on the Eurostar (platform 1) side of the station, near the Air France office.

Thank you. Your reply was very helpful. Is there a train that will take me from Brussels to Barcelona?

Not a single train, no: you would have to take a series of trains starting with the Thalys from Bruxelles-Midi to Paris-Nord (e.g. 10.43 arr. 12.05), then cross Paris to the Gare de Lyon, and then normally change in Montpellier: for example, a TGV train leaves Paris-Lyon at 13.24 and arrives at Montpellier Saint-Roch at 16.53, then another fast train leaves there at 17.03 reaching Barcelona Franca at 21.45. Another possibility would be the sleeper train that leaves Paris Austerlitz at 20:32 and arrives at Barcelona Franca at 08:59.

As you will be in Brussels and staying near the Avenue Louise, the most convenient place to get information and possibly buy train tickets and make reservations for this journey - given that SNCF is one of the operators of Thalys and that the rest of this journey would be on French Railways - would be the SNCF office in the Galerie Louise, behind the Inno department store: entering that store from the Avenue Louise, go straight ahead to the exit into the shopping mall, turn right and the SNCF %26quot;shop%26quot; will be a few doors down, on your left.

Personally, however, I would much prefer to fly, check prices on Brussels Airlines and Vueling.
