train time from brussels to ghent?

how long on average is the train ride from brussels to ghent? we will be flying into brussels airport - is the train station quite close to there or do we need to take a bus to it? thanks everyone!

30 minutes from Brussels itself on the fastest trains, but Brussels Airport is at Zaventem, about 20 minutes away from the city by the airport train. The railway station is at level -1 of the airport.

There are some direct trains to Ghent from the airport, which will get you there in just under an hour, while at other times you have to change at Bruxelles-Nord.

I would suggest you put the date and time you want to travel into here: http://www.b-rail.be/main/E/ together with, as station of departure Zaventem (airport) and as station of arrival, Gent-Sint-Pieters, in both cases written like that.

hello everyone,

what is a difference in two cities Ghent %26amp; Gent. It is the same city but two names?

|||

GHENT is the English spelling - without the %26quot;h%26quot; we would pronounce it %26quot;dzhent%26quot;, as in gentleman - which I use when referring to the city in a general way. GENT is the name of the city in its own language, Dutch, which I would use when giving, for example, the name of the railway station so that people can find it in timetables. For the same of completion, the French version is GAND, which of course you would see on roadsigns when driving through the French-speaking part of Belgium.

For the capital of Belgium, the equivalents are Brussels (EN), Brussel (NL), Bruxelles (FR).

In this country it is necessary to be alert to language differences - otherwise you could go around in circles looking for Mons and only finding signposts to Bergen (which is the same place...)!
