LOVE brussels

We%26#39;ve been to many places, and Brussels is one of our favorites.

Eat a waffle on the street

Drink a trappist beer.

Eat chocolate.

We%26#39;re going again in June!

Well yes, although you can actually do these things elsewhere in Belgium than in Brussels, for example the waffles you eat on the street are of the Liège variety, firmer and sweeter than the Brussels variety which I personally prefer. If you haven%26#39;t been there already, I will again recommend the café above Dandoy in rue de l%26#39;Etuve, one block from the Grand%26#39; Place on the street leading to the Mannekin Pis, for the best waffles in Brussels, whether liégeois or bruxellois - plus crêpes, pastries, and of course their famous biscuits, which you would call cookies.

If you are a chocolate connoisseur you might like to know of a relatively new place, Frédéric Blondeel on Place Ste. Catherine, on the opposite side of the square from the Welcome Hotel. You can see some of their offerings on frederic-blondeel.be/public_html/shopping_gi… They also do specialist teas, coffees etc., and their hot chocolate is completely unlike Wittamer%26#39;s (which I still consider the best in Brussels) but worth sampling on a cool day. Not that they should be all that cool in June, but you never know!
