We are planning a birthday celebration in Brugge and would welcome views on the top restaurants - particularly the Michelin-strarred ones: Karmeliet, %26#39;Golden Herring%26#39; and Sans Cravat. If you have personal experience of any of these - or any other up-market venues, we would love to hear from you.

I have previously mentioned Den Dijver on several occasions.
They do %26#39;cuisine a la biere%26#39;, where every course is cooked with a different beer, and a glass of the beer is also served with the food.
The service and ambience of the restaurant are both superb.
I%26#39;m afraid that I haven%26#39;t eaten at any of the places you mention, but have read good reviews of all of them.

I have only eaten at the karmaliet. Well presented food with decent portions for a pncy restaurant. Book early for Fri and Sat if you must but you would be much better eating on another day of the week. To be honest you are better eating at a non Michelin restaurant. The food is just as good and often the service is better. See the forum for what is recommended
