We are travelling with our 2-year old son. Can you recommend any family friendly restaurants (e.g. noise is not a problem, food that children will eat)?
Also, my son is allergic to peanuts. Do you know if it is common to use peanut oil to cook in Belgium? I am concerned about the famous Belgian frites!

Traditionally the best frites are supposed to be made with animal fat (horse or beef) and this can still be the case at specialised %26quot;fritkots%26quot; but in a restaurant and indeed most fritkots they are more likely to be using any old vegetable oil, e.g. sunflower, peanut, or a mixture. You will therefore either have to ask the restaurant specifically what fat it uses, or avoid fried foods altogether for the child.
